If are thinking of working off-base or out of your home on-base, you
will need to go to the Staff Judge Advocate office located in Building
C-5, 243-7335 and pick-up a packet that explains the rules and
regulations. For employment off-base you are required to get an
endorsement from your sponsor’s command and return the completed
package to the Staff Judge Advocate office for final approval. This
process can take between 2-4 weeks. For employment from your home onbase there are a few more steps that must be completed prior to turning
into the Staff Judge Advocate office. A Japan work visa is not
required for SOFA personnel.
Modeling Opportunities in Japan:
Twice a year Fleet and Family Service Center (FFSC) host a modeling
fair. They invite modeling companies’ on-base to recruit models.
There are usually 10-15 companies that participate in this fair. There
is NO CHARGE for registering with any of the agencies in attendance.
The modeling agencies look for all ages, shapes, sizes and types. The
modeling agencies require you to have an off-base bank for payment.
You must have approval from Staff Judge Advocate for off-base
employment.
